What can I expect from an event? If it’s the SCC’s first visit to your community, we start out with a performance from a local stand-up comic. Then we shift into a variety of comedy formats where the host engages the audience. Returning events are the best part - seniors who signed up in advance, will be the show - getting their chance in the spotlight with a 1-5 minute open mic.

I’m interested in trying stand-up but what if I’m not funny?Anyone can be funny because humor is just a part of being human. It doesn’t take a perfect punchline or a comedy routine; it's about those everyday moments we all relate to—the funny slip-ups, awkward encounters, or just the weird quirks of life. You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room to make people laugh. Sometimes, it’s the way you tell a story, crack a sarcastic comment, or even laugh at your own mistakes that gets everyone smiling.

Can family and friends attend? We do coordinate with the staff to host special events where family and friends are invited to attend.
